Five Acres High School

Early Help Provision

Five Acres High School is taking part in a national initiative known as Trailblazers. As a Trailblazer school, we are working with statutory health providers who will be delivering mental health service delivery to pupils within the school. Below is listed the provision provided in-house by Five Acres High School.

One to one sessions

These target our most vulnerable students who need personalised support. This has proven fundamental to support these students with the majority of these ‘graduating’ either to group support or light touch early help support. This happens across all year groups looking at the following topics:

  • Transition to secondary school
  • Gender transition and support
  • Sexuality support
  • Anxiety
  • Anger management
  • Emotional resilience

Group sessions

These target our next tier of vulnerable students who benefit from group work, team building and the sharing of ideas/thoughts. The majority of these last for six weeks with students then just having a ‘light touch’ afterwards. This happens across all year groups looking at the following topics:

  • Exam anxiety
  • CBT work
  • Mindfulness
  • Anxiety
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Anger management
